Can you imagine life without emotions? How would we ascribe importance to the different experiences in our lives? Emotions give meaning to our experiences and help us respond adaptively. We use physiology, behavior, and self-report to study how people experience, regulate and understand emotions and how these factors affect social interactions. We study emotions in culturally diverse college students, long-term married couples, and dementia patients.

We are current looking for volunteer research assistants who are self-motivated, extremely reliable, resourceful, and attentive to detail. Students planning to go to graduate school in research psychology, students with previous psychology research experience, or students that can commit for more than one year are especially encouraged to apply. Availability throughout the Fall and Spring semesters is required.

You will receive excellent research experience and training while making valuable contributions to a busy research laboratory. Some of the research opportunities include:

• Conducting experimental lab sessions with participants
• Collecting participants' psychophysiological data
• Transcription and analysis of lab sessions
• Behavioral and facial coding
• Data management and analysis

Our lab is always looking for talented and motivated individuals interested in our research and clinical psychology. Many of our research assistants move up to become full time research associates.
